Don’t call it a comeback!

AS YOU KNOW, I HAVEN’T POSTED MUCH LATELY. AND THE REASON IS BECAUSE OF SCHOOL OF COURESE. FOR SOME REASON IT GOT REAL SHAKY AND INTIMIDATING. USUALLY I FALL UNDER THE PRESSURE OF SCHOOL OR SOMETHING AWFUL ALWAYS HAPPENS OR TIME JUST DOESNT PERMIT ME TO ACHIEVE THE WAY THAT I’D LIKE TO. HOWEVER, THIS SEMESTER WENT MUCH DIFFERENTLY. I WAS EXTREMELY DETERMINED. NO MATTER WHAT OBSTACLE GOT IN MY WAY, I WORKED HARD. AFTER I CRIED AND COMPLAIN, ALL THAT THERE WAS LEFT TO DO WAS MY WORK. I MOST DEFINITELY REAPED THE BENEFITS. 2 A’S, 1 A+, 2 A-‘S

JUST DO IT.

ANYWHO, IN THE YEAR OF 2010, I PLAN TO MAKE BIG AND SUCCESFUL MOVES. I ALSO PLAN TO KEEP THAT SAME DETERMINATION AND GRIND MENTALITY APART OF ME BECAUSE THERE IS NO TIME TO BE NONCHALANT ABOUT SUCCESS. SO IN THE NEW YEAR EXPECT MORE INTELLECTUAL AND CREATIVE POSTS FROM ME AND EXPECT TO SEE MY NAME IN SOMEONE’S MAGAZINE IF NOT MY OWN. I AM HERE TO STIMULATE YOUR MIND.

ASPIRE PEOPLE!

These are just a few selections of albums and books that I have recently purchased. If you're into sci-fi love stories, rough&painful coming of age books, soulful and lyrically empowering songs, these just might interest you!

FORGIVENESS.

I felt that I should state my feelings on Chris Brown’s new album and the outstanding number of situations regarding him.

Graffiti surprised me. The first time I heard it, I thought wow this is much different than his first and second albums. But then after several more reviews of the album, I realized that Chris was stepping out of his associated genre and becoming a more edgy singer and a little bit more that R&B. I am happy that Chris is doing this because that is exactly what music is. Music is more than one specific genre. It is universal and untitled.

I am a Chris Brown fan. I don’t like the fact that because I am a girl , people feel as though I should turn my back on him because he was domestically violent against his girlfriend. Sure, what he did was 100% wrong but does that mean we have to all nail him to the cross and crucify him? No it doesn’t.

Just think

When was the last time you did something wrong. Were you forgiven? Forgiveness is liberation of the soul and since none of us are God why must we judge a situation that has nothing to do with us. God forgives. This means that stores should not be blackballing CDs and interviewers should not demean Chris in interviews or attack him for simply smiling.

Why does everyone hate Chris but accept the other trouble makers who are probably doing something even worst, with open arms?

Perhaps it’s reevaluation time.

Chris must understand that humans will be humans and talk about him. The greats and most talented are always ridiculed the most because others will never be as good as them.

The world is intimated by greatness. So all we can do is endure it and allow it to make us more mature and stronger.

Happy Holidays

Well friends it seems as though we have made it through another year. Take a moment and thank god! I am so thankful to be back home amongst friends and family. As much as I hated being snowed in, I loved spending time with my mother.

‘Tis is the season to be thankful and grateful that we are all blessed. I pray that 2010 will be a productive and successful year for everyone. Let’s leave all negativity in 2009 and enter 2010 with a clean slate.

Happy Holidays to all my Black Pearls.

Princess of the Year

The Princess & The Frog is definitely a must see; A comical, captivating and even sentimental classic!
I'd say this is one of the best Disney movies in a long time.
Tiana is a charming and hard working black girl from New Orleans with dreams of having her own restaurant "Tiana's Place"
In the midst of living her dream as well as her father's, Tiana finds love, in the most unexpected place and as a Frog.
Many criticized the movie because Tiana was a frog for most of the movie, but I didn't find it insulting neither did I think it took away from the idea of her being a black princess.
And if you don't trust my opinion, ask the many diverse children who filled the seats with me!
