Pardon me but I'm still in the process of mourning the loss of Michael Jackson. Ever since Friday, BET made it seem as if this AMAZING show was going to air and that the best tribute for MJ would occur. However, I did not. I am disappointed in the fact that Black Entertainment Television exemplifies being loud, black, ghetto and unorganized. I only hope that a bigger tribute will be properly conducted for Michael.
PS: All of the new BET shows that are about to premiere need to be lynched.

Gone to Soon: Michael Jackson.
Like A Comet
Blazing 'Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon
Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon
Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One DayGone One Night
Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon
Like A castle built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon
Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night
Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon
Gone Too Soon
by Michael Jackson
If you know me well, you know that I loved Michael Jackson as if he were apart of my family. I never met him. I was never able to see him perform live but you better believe I had every album starting from "Diana Ross Presents:The Jackson Five". It hurts be to say that today we have lost another shining star. The sky never seemed so dim. I used to wish I lived in the 60's just so I could witness being in the era where the Jackson 5 ruled the world. I wished I could remember those times like my Mother. I couldn't physically be there but of course, I found my own way. My very first favorite song in my entire life was "You are not alone" by Michael Jackson and I truly believe that Michael is not alone because the world and all of his TRUE fans will carry him in their hearts.
I loved Michael so much that even when I was young, I would hate comedians for talking about him and get mad at my very own friends and family for criticizing him. Michael was Amazing-on and off stage. His lyrics were truthful, his spirit was warm and his heart was the most precious. Perhaps Michael is finally able to enjoy the peace that he has always deserved to have. I wondered to myself, How could I miss someone that I've never personally known? Well it's simple , I grew up to Michael- every single song. I searched the internet for every single interview. I can remember going to Motown.com to look at old Jackson Five footage. I made posters in honor of them. I was a MICHAEL JACKSON FAN and I will ALWAYS be.
It took me nearly all day to come on here and write this and it still hurts me to have to do this because I can't even believe that Michael is gone. I love him and miss him. I hope that the world can dwell in his great spirit and leave all the negativity that they have brought to Michael in the garbage where it belongs. Michael will never die. His legacy lives on FOREVER.

Today was an interesting day, I worked for pay- at my mom's job today because they needed help unpacking and what not into their new building. When I say Labor,I mean...Labor lol It was fine though. They were really great people and I'd love to work with them!!!

As you see, I love to inform everyone about new and great music. Therefore, I have a piping hott duo that hails from Atlanta,Ga. but also attends my school Hampton University. I am so close to calling Hampton a school for the arts becuase EVERYONE is so unique and talented. It's actually pretty inspiring. Anywho these guys are quite Amazing, I must say. They have a raw yet unique urban style that will keep your head bobbin' to every line. I wish I could post a pic of them but I feel kind of weird doing that since they don't know that I'm low-key promoting them =] but i dont think they would have a problem with this. Have a listen for youself.

New Favorites.

So u guys, I have a few new favorite artists!! Firstly-Her name is Lykke Li and she is from Sweden. I'm sure you've heard 'a little bit' remixed by Drake on his mixtape 'so far gone' but she has actually been out for awhile now like most artists. I'm sorry that I waited so late to check her out however, its better late than never. Don't be another sleeper like I was, check out Lykke Li's album 'Youth Novels' and find your self in a world full of imagination and creativity as you're lifted by the light airy sound of her unique voice.
Make sure you hear:
Little Bit
Let it Fall
Tonight &&
Until we bleed featuring her by Kleerup
NEXT> if you're not down with Chester French... introduce yourself...IMMEDIATELY.
Chester French is a duo which consists of two successful and highly intelligent guys who met each other in the dining hall at their collge-Harvard University =0. They have recently been signed to Pharrell's label Star Trak. I love their sound and their dry humor. Definitely a great team to follow!
My favorite song by them is Nerd Girl feat. Janelle Monae.
Go have a listen for yourself!

I M A N I.

I never thought I was the smartest
the prettiest
the ugliest
the strongest
the luckiest
I always thought of myself as just average. Nothing MORE ,nothing less. And as I look back on it, I think that's kind of sad. I should have been thinking highly of myself over these past 18 years. But I wasn't and I think that maybe that's normal for humans to do- for the most part. Well I'm afraid that I got caught up in my negative thinking and began to make excuses for myself. I can't do that, I probably won't be good enough. But I can. I can do anything I put my mind too. Yes. It sounds cliche'. But cliche' and the 'truth' have a thin line separating them. I call myself a dreamer because ALL I do is dream. This was a good thing before but now that I'm older, I need to become the Achiever. I need to map out my dreams and follow them. I shouldn't just daydream and remind myself over and over all the things that I want to do. I need to shut up and DO IT. This proccess comes with the emotion of fear. Everyone is afraid of change or has been in one point of their life. So it is natural to feel this type of way. However, we can not avoid it. We have to accept the fact that we can not be teenagers forever. We can not sit back and be catered to like spoiled children. It's time for us to get in the dirt and plant our own seeds. Sooner or Later we will watch those seeds grow into buds and blossom into flowers that reflect our dreams and goals. But the first step is making that First Step. My first step is every tuesday at 10 am.
Welcome to the beginning of the rest of your life!

A rose that grew from concrete: Tupac Amaru Shakur

Tupac Amaru Shakur. I just found out that it was his birthday today through someone else's blog. I hate to be just like her and write something on him but it's in my spirit to do so. I just took out sometime reading one of my favorite poems by Tupac in his book "A rose that grew from concrete". The poem reads,
In the event of my demise
when my heart can beat no more
I hope I die for a principle
or a belief that I had lived for
I will die before my time
Because I feel the shadow's death
I have come to grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from my eyes
I loved all who were positive
In the event of my demise!
This poem means so much to because I can feel Tupac's passion in each word that he chose. I also feel that this poem was a warning to the world that he wouldn't be here much longer. He knew that his way of life was going to cause him to not live long. However, he stresses that he lived by all his morals and was able to achieve many of his goals before his death. What really sticks out to me about Tupac is that his morals at times crossed each other out, in my opinion. Tupac was intelligent. He was different from the rest in a sense that he was an intellectual and at the end of the day, he knew way more than the people he associated himself with. I think that he had so much anger built up inside of him that he had to find other ways to channel it. It was so weird to watch videos of Tupac and notice how he was so smart that he could be the President or the leader of his own revolution and yet the interview was held in a prison where Tupac was being held. It saddened me to see how such a dynamic person who knew all the right things, continued to do wrong . He said once or twice that it was a stage that people go through- the whole "gangster lifestyle"- and so I think that he thought that he would have more time to get out of this stage and do better for himself. I kind of related his situation to the present day rapper T.I. T.I raps about both a "thug life" but also writes songs that inspire his listeners. He also trys to help youth see that they should go down the road less traveled and make a difference in the world. However, he ends up in jail for violence. I've realized that it takes a while for people to change themselves- longer than it does to try to change someone else. I only pray that the time shortens. Also, we all know that Tupac moved to Baltimore in his teen years. Meaning he was my age while in Baltimore. Like I, he saw the things that I see today. It's ashame that within decades not much has changed. Tupac called Baltimore an "ignorance city". I mean it hurts to hear him say such things about my city but how can I prove him wrong? He's right-it is. Anywho he also stated that the high school he attended- Baltimore School for the Arts changed his life in ways of which he was introduced to different styles of music, drama and literature that he would have never learned or payed attention to at anyother school. At BSA he was shaped and cultured. So this proves that you can learn anywhere, weather it be in the finest city or the worst. It is all about your dedication to education and the betterment of yourself and these are the type of things that Tupac spoke about-being your own person and knowing exactly what you want out of life. I wish Tupac would have made better decisions and completely followed the words that he inspired me to live by.
Happy Birthday Tupac Amaru Shakur and Rest In Peace.

Hmm. something neww
So i really shouldn't be saying anything about this because who knows if I'll even get it. Last time I had an interview things didnt work out and I ended up passing on them. However, an excellent oppurtunity came thru for me yesterday. Doni Glover called and offered me an interview at Radio one for BmoreNews! Now it's just an interview which means its the make or break point. I really hate those things but hey I think I'll be just fine. Pray that I get it!!

"The Lotus Blossoms"

I am not sure If you've heard of her but she was once an aspiring singer on the label TUG a while back .Well her name is Jhene and I think her talent is something much deeper than music. I was lead to her blog and I was inspired. She has such a free spirit and words of wisdom that leave you wanting more and that Inspires you to be more of that self fulfilled person. Her blog is roughly how I imagined mine to be only because I see that we share the same thoughts about life and love.
I have found my inspiration that I've been searching for, for months.

NOTHING has changed so don't fret!
So as you see, nothing has come thru for me yet. But honestly, I am not complaining. I could always go back to Giant but I'm better off cutting myself. They say beggars aren't choosers but at the end of the day i'm not begging. What I am trying to say is. This is my last summer where I have time to enjoy rainy days such as the one I am experiencing now. After this summer, my life will be in full speed so how about I breathe now while I can. Sure! money is definitely what I need in my life right now. But money isn't that impossible for me to retrieve. Therefore until I get a call back or if I never do, I dedicate this summer to the empowerment of myself. This means that I will spend my days enhancing myself in reading/writing. [I am an English Major-just incase you found that a bit weird =] ]. Anywho, reading will make the days less boring and writing will only strengthen my creativity and prep me for the rest of my writing career lol So! follow me as I take my trip to the library-downtown- which really bugs me because there was a library right in the village- 2mins away from me- and now its all boarded up! How do you board up a LIBRARY>in Baltimore of all places?!..they claim they're reconstructed however it's been about a year and I've yet to see the fruits of that labor.
anyway I'll keep you in tune with the latest piece I've written and the latest book in my hand..that's if you care. But in reality it doesn't matter if you do or not =]
Goodnight All!.
disclaimer: if you are reading this and you are not a follower of mine, take two seconds out of your time and follow me... not to sound desperate or anything. lol.

Still on the grind,

So if a job never calls me back and my well runs completely dry- I'll continue to listen to my Asher Roth mixtape, eat italian ice and watch Bravo TV. =]

OnikaMiraj
Nicki Minaj.. The Female Weezy?I must admit I was not a fan of this new young money 1st lady due to her image. I truly hate how female rappers have to be raunchy to get in the door. However, after I put aside the way her mixtape cover looked and some of the distateful things she said, I actually enjoyed the meaningful words she executed. In my opinion she may be the next best thing since "Queen Bee" and the "Diamond Princess". She's the "Baddest Bx!ch..no muzzle". .
Download her mixtape "Beam me up Scotty" it's pretty entertaining. Young Money might go somewhere with Nicki as well as Drizzy. Now as for Omarion...that's another story. =]

Taboo. Blue FreezePops. Cookouts.Mondawmin

You must forgive my heavy absence. However, I've been savoring every day of my summer. It feels so good to spend days with the people I love.
Being with the crew never seems to get old. Everytime we're together, we have the best time- even if we're just sitting there bored. Saturday was our crab feast! along with a good round of Taboo and Jinga!! Me and Jackie won!.. how did that happen? LOL anyway I love those guys and I will always. From Jackie's lack of life skills to Tracie's big sister duties we always make a joke out of it all and through the darkness we see each other for who we really are and that is a sisterhood. Cliche' -u might say (excuse the rhyme lol) but we're as original as it gets. YURdME.
Sunday was a HootieHoo day. We reunited with our Baldamore boyz along with the rest of the dreamteam ; Joe,Kevo,Maino, and Yonnie (these are nicknames by the way). Joe slaved on the grill and made the best chicken ever. A night full of laughs made me remember how glad I am that the choice came down to HU or else I wouldn't have met these wonderful ppl and lifelong friends. And Lemmetellya! Just because we all live in MD doesnt mean we're really close bcuz I swear it took 2hours for me to get home from Waldorf LOL.
Today was the day that I finally saw my sister since the summer of 07 when I visited her in ATL. It began when I called my brova and got up with him because I was bored and my being bored partner was occupied.(ahem). but anywayI drove to Druid Hill Park with a pit hanging out the window in the back. (shouts out to Bingo!) haha. Their we met Toni. My future sister n law and the carrier of my future (with hopes) neice! Being with them was different yet amusing. I love their relationship. I like to think of it as Bonnie n Clyde =]. Later we finally saw Aisha!! and the rest of my night was devoted to her! The love of my life =] (no homo). Together we took a hiatus to Mondawmin,Downtown,Fulton St. and finally to da Village. The Excursion continues!!
disclaimer: I did not proofread at all so don't hold any grammar issues against me lol
