life at its finest

Don't you just hate when you think your life is going absolutely perfect--I mean no complaints whatsoever--and instantly your smacked in the face with reality? Well that's what's happening to me at this very moment. Actually its been happening this entire winter break. I must say emotionally this has been the worst holiday season ever. A season of love and warmth was filled with discomfort, worry, and sadness, but I continued to smile. However, I'd be lying if I didn't breakdown countless times. The situation is personal and I really don't want to get into it through this outlet, but just know that its a test that everyone has to pass if their apart of this thing called life.

Any who you have to thank God even through your trials, so I want to acknowledge that God has blessed me with an AMAZING opportunity this summer. I will be traveling to this place in MAY for two weeks:

I am extremely excited, but also quite nervous, since I will be basically going about this alone. But nonetheless it will be an amazing experience to intern with a company for the Cannes Film Festival, and how awesome will it be to be in CANNES,FRANCE!

Over this break I've done a lot of reading--mostly poetry by Ntozake Shange, Sonia Sanchez, and Nikki Giovanni (my favorite African American, female poets). I'd like to suggest the following for you to read if you're interested
